Hello There Macintosh User!
If you are getting this email you have sometime been a client of mine — Thank you for your past custom! Like the Mr Mac Facebook page for regular updates: https://www.facebook.com/mrmacbyronbay
I am now able to accept payment via VISA or MasterCard Credit Cards, with no surcharge
1. Ghostery: In this time of government and big brother surveillance it’s worth considering finding out who is tracking you with this free extension. You can then choose to allow or deny their attempts to follow you. https://www.ghostery.com
2. Tinder for Dating: A highly recommended free app for dating and finding other singles is Tinder. Once you have signed up – for free – you can see where other people are and contact them if they’re nearby. Apparently it works well! http://www.gotinder.com
3. Curbi Might Help Control Kid’s i-Devices: Ii is extremely difficult to control how much time kids are on their i-devices and what sites they visit. This software has a 14 day free trial period to see if it works for you then its $5 per month or $50 per year for up to 5 devices. http://www.curbi.com
4. HalfTone 2: Is for turning your iPad photos into comic strips. An app for $2 isn’t bad. Might keep the kids active for a while…. http://www.juicybitssoftware.com/halftone2/
5. Keyboard Viewer in Mavericks: The very handy Keyboard Viewer that lets you add different characters to text has been moved in 10.9 into System Preferences/Keyboard from System Preferences/ Language and Text where it was before. Click the box titled Show Keyboard & Character Viewer in menu bar and it will appear up near the Date and Time.
6. f.lux Adjusts Your Screen To Your Daylight: f.lux makes the colour of your computer’s display adapt to the time of day, warm at night and like sunlight during the day. It might help with sleep issues because it stops the computer screen looking like bright day at night time! Free. http://justgetflux.com
7. Media Hint: Media Hint is a plug-in that claims to let you watch overseas content that is otherwise restricted to certain territories. It’s free but only works in Chrome or Firefox. https://mediahint.com/
8. OneNote Now for Mac: OneNote is one of those apps that Windows users have always claimed as a big deal that weren’t available for Macs. Well now it’s here for Mac and all i-Devices for free from the relevant App Store so you can try it and decide for yourself! http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/onenote/
9. Speech Timer: A freebie for the many amongst us who serve on committees and the like, Speech Timer has a timer board projected up via your overhead projector to keep everyone in line. Byron Council take note please! http://basilsalad.com/os-x/speech-timer/
